BasicIdent - Identity Based Encryption

The first practical Identity Based Encryption (IBE) scheme was developed by Boneh and Franklin in 2001. They developed two versions, BasicIdent and FullIdent, and both are secure against Chosen Plaintext Attacks (IND-CPA).

When BasicIdent is transformed into a more secure encryption scheme by applying a variant of the Fujisaki-Okamoto transformation it is known as FullIdent.
